Resurfacing a driveway also know as a tarmac overlay is the process of installing a new layer of tarmac directly over the top of the existing layer.

 

The basic process is:-

•  Clean existing driveway of all loose material

•  Repair any edging courses that are damaged or loose

•  Repair any minor damage on the existing surface

•  Cut any required joints to reduce heights or increase clearance

•  Make up any areas prone to water collection

•  Weed treat any problem areas if required

•  Cover existing driveway surface with Bitumen Emulsion (AKA tack coat) which bonds the new layer to the old one

•  Lay tarmac.
